Favorite Singer...Favorite Hymnal.

Carrie Underwood was on tv tonight for "Girl's Night Out" and sang this song. It is one of my most favorite hymnals and how appropriate for the Easter season. She is one of my all time favorites. This is also a favorite hymnal of mine because it puts chills on me and reminds me of my Granddaddy. Here is Carrie Underwood at the Grand Ole Opry singing.

Blessing of the Fleet 2011

This past Sunday was Blessing of the Fleet for Mt. Pleasant shrimpers. Every year the clergy of Charleston Seafarer's Ministry come together to this large festival to bless the fleet of shrimp boats so they have good luck shrimping. It is has become very hard for them with this economy as it is their livelihood. They need as much of the Lord's help as they can get. And on top of that.... who doesn't love fresh LOCAL shrimp. As the old saying goes, "Friends don't let friends eat imported shrimp." Here are a few pics none of which I took but you get the idea.

"Winds of Fortune"... she's a local celeb.

Everybody could use a blessing, right?

Update!

Thank you girls who asked about Lily. She is home. They did a series of barium tests. The barium was moving through but was sitting in her stomach too long. They also did a blood panel and her lipid count was through the roof (800s) when they are normally supposed to be around the 200s. They checked her for pancreatitis. No pancreatitis. Honestly, I think this is all a reaction after we have weened her off Prednisone for her skin allergies. I'm thinking she might have had an ulcer. The ultrasound found nothing. I'm hoping she was just having a bad 2 day spell. I am SO glad she is back home. After I got home last night, I just stood in the shower and bawled. That is my girlm and I would die if something serious ever happened. So praise the Lord she is HOME!

On a bit brighter note, Virginia over at Sweet Carolina Girl awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award! Thank you Virginia! It is definitely a bright end to my day.

Lily

No I don't mean Lily Pulitzer. I mean my sweet pup Lily. She has been acting a little funny lately: extra clingy, restless, and now vomiting. Tonight my mom and I took her to the emergency vet. They did some xrays and saw a bit of a grey mass. They think she might have eaten something and that it is causing an obstruction. Either way, she was pitiful. She was shaking and clearly in pain. They wanted to keep her overnight to run some tests and monitor her. I think they are supposed to call my mom and keep her updated. They gave her a sedative to calm her down because she was so anxious about being there. They brought her out for us to see her before we left. I can't explain to you how much my heart broke. She looked so sad and worried. They had gone ahead and put in some IV ports in her paw. They wrapped it with hot pink tape. That made me smile because Lily is such a girl. I know she liked the hot pink. I loved on her briefly and rubbed her airplane ears (they stick straight out to the sides...). As we were leaving, she didn't once look away from me. She watched my mom and I leave and looked pitiful. I had to hold back alligator tears. It was tough. That is my sweet pup, and I love her as my child as I do her four legged siblings, step sister (BG) and her half brother (Legend). Please say a prayer for her tonight that nothing is too serious and that she will be OK. I am trying to keep my mind from wandering. I will leave you with a picture of my girl.
