Weekend Overview

This weekend was a whirlwind. Friday Brian came into town and we did dinner at Sesame Burgers and Beer with our good friends Katherine and David. This was Brian and I's first time. It was DELICIOUS! I am all about some "gourmet burgers." I mean, burgers with ketchup and lettuce and a tomato are good, but who doesn't like some different burgers. I had a burge called the "Park Circle." It came with lettuce, tomato, coleslaw, and bar-b-que sauce. It was sooo good. And of course I had to have some fries. They had a chipotle sour cream that I dipped my fries in. I could go on and on about this place. You will just have to try it for yourself. After dinner, we went over to our friend's house to have a night-cap and continue our conversation from dinner. We had a blast.

Saturday we went to the beach. It was HOT. There was barely any breeze; there were NO waves. The water was like glass. It was really cool, but it was hotter than 7 hells. We had a good time talking and people watching. That night Brian and I had our own date night. We went to dinner and bowling. It was fun considering I beat him twice (153 on my 2nd game and 145 on my 3rd game). We capped off the night with a stroll through Barnes and Noble. Brian is getting the reading bug so he wanted to browse.

We ended the weekend with church and Sunday lunch with my parents. It was nice. I am really looking forward to this week. I only work 4 days this week with Friday off. I am SO excited. Brian and I will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary. It was really the 26th of July, but I surprised him and bought him tickets to Kings of Leon in Charlotte this Friday. He is thrilled. I am pretty excited too. That Saturday we will be staying with our friends in Rock Hill, Dana & Patrick and their sweet new baby, Whit. It will be another action packed weekend.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

J. Crew

Oh how I love thee! J. Crew is one of my most favorite places. However sometimes I think their threads are a little overpriced. Therefore, I look for a sale or head to my nearest outlet (Side Note: We are getting a JCrew outlet here in Charleston. It is supposed to be finished any day now. HALLELUJAH!). Well a reader over at Turtles and Pearls just so happened to post about the major sale that J. Crew is having online. I snatched up the following:

This dress (mineral green)

And this top (pale pink)

They are using a promotional code of LOVEIT. When you enter this at checkout, you receive FREE shipping and an additional 40% off your entire purchase! My total was a whopping $39.04. I call that a STEAL! Hurry over to J. Crew and check out all the good stuff!!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

This week...

...was hell. This entire week I was in a foul mood. And to be honest, my foul moods do not last too long. It could have been that I am giving up Diet Coke thus ensuing a 2 day headache so far. That could be another issue. I've decided I need to drink more water because I rarely drink it anyways.

I am so thankful for a quiet weekend. I think the only thing on the agenda is going to help my best girlfriend look for bridesmaid's dresses. She is thinking sage/champagne color. I think it will be gorgeous for her December wedding.

There was one thing to brighten my week. And it was this little number.

It is a Lilly Pulitzer. I bought it a consignment shop. It still had the tags. NEVER. BEEN. WORN. I scooped it up for $75. This dress retails for $198. I thought it was quite a steal.

Anyways, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Sunflowers

It has been a minute since I posted last. I am hit or miss on this thing sometimes. I'm a bad blogger.

Over 4th of July weekend, we spent a day out a good girlfriend's parents house/farm. The whole farm belongs to the family and most all of them live on this plot of land. Each year they plant sunflowers for dove season. Their dirt road is lined with rows and rows of sunflowers. It is absolutely gorgeous. Of course it presented us a wonderful photo op. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

[This is a good picture so you can see just how far down they go.)

[With our good friends, Katherine & David.]

Hope y'all have a wonderful week!
