One year.

Today, October 26, 2014, was one whole year married to the love of my life. How did it go by so fast?! It has been the best year of my life learning and growing with someone who is truly my best friend. Y'all, I am never sappy but this man is awesome. We spent our anniversary in downtown Charleston eating, drinking, and lots of walking King Street. Just what we wanted! I will leave you with some pictures from our day!

Husband's Birthday Weekend

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I last posted. I've been around, just not posting. My life is BUSY and I have very little extra time these days.

ANYWAYS, Fall is HERE! October is my favorite month because I feel like it really doesn't start to feel like Fall until then and we have lots to celebrate this month (my husband's birthday, my mom's, and our wedding anniversary)! And then there's Fall clothes too. :)

We celebrated my husband's birthday this past weekend in Hilton Head and it was great! We took Friday off and drove down first thing that morning to get a "full weekend." We biked, ate, drank, fished, and played games with his parents. I will let the pictures do the talking. I haven't uploaded all my pictures from my big camera yet so forgive the iPhone pics.

Bike riding around the island. I was bringing up the rear.
 The lighting was gorgeous!

After fishing, a beer before getting ready for dinner!

 Gorgeous oak at Harbourtown!

Hope y'all have a great week! Happy Tuesday!

Thoughts For Thursday!

I am going to do just some random thoughts for my "Thoughts for Thursday." This is my first time linking up so bear with me.

{1}

I am really excited to see the 50 Shades of Grey movie. It looks intense! Now, how can I get my husband  to take me on Valentine's Day?

{2}

It has been seriously hot lately and to be quite honest, I am a bit ready for the Fall. Maybe it's the mosquitoes that have me yearning for Fall and not the heat... Mosquitoes just are the worst, y'all.

{3}

I could watch hair and make-up tutorials ALL DAY! I am just not good at that kind of stuff so when I see step by step tutorials it just makes my day. Kate @ The Small Things Blog is one of my faves. Y'all check her out if you haven't. She is SO down to earth and her little babe is THE cutest.

{4}

I made peach cobbler for B on Tuesday night. You would have thought he had died and gone to heaven. I used this recipe.It was AWESOME with vanilla ice cream.

{5}

I have had to start wearing glasses at work. I have always has a slight astigmatism but nothing that caused me any major issues. I have glasses for it. Well, I got a keyboard tray at work so I sit back further away from my 2 monitors. Well, headaches galore! My glasses have seemed to remedy that. I probably should get my eyes checked...and maybe a new pair of specs too. :)

Happy Thursday!!

Junior League

Happy Tuesday y'all!! Is it Friday yet? I head to the beach for the first annual Girls' Trip with my BFFs. Excited is an understatement.

After being in Greenville/Spartanburg area for over 2 years now, I decided to take the plunge and get involved with my local Junior League. I went to an interest meeting with my boss who is in the League and another girl from work who is joining. The girls were super nice and thought it would be a good fit for me. I do volunteer with Spartanburg district 5 schools and their lunch buddy program but need more philanthropy on my resume. It's also a great way to network and meet others your age. I am excited to start at the end of August!

Are any of my readers part of their local Junior League? What do y'all think about yours?

Also, if any of my readers are on Instagram, please find me at @haleymarozas. I post a lot there showing my day to day life and lots of pictures of my dog, Gopher. :) Just a fair warning!

Montana Recap

My husband and I, along with my in-laws traveled to Montana to stay the week of the 4th. To say it was fun was an understatement. A lot of people would ask "Montana? What's there?" And to be quite frank, I found it rude. End rant. We stayed with my husband's uncle's family and to say that were great hosts was an understatement. They had stuff for us planned, kept plenty of booze, and the food was amazing! Still dreaming of the braised beef tacos. YUM! We went hiking the day after we arrived and it was incredible. We also went white water rafting; I had been before but this was hands down the best! Talk about rapids!! We went to a rodeo in Red Lodge which I loved. Red Lodge is such a cool little town. We traveled up to Bear Tooth Pass before heading to the rodeo as well. It was a fabulous trip, and I am itching to get back!! I will let the pictures do the talking.

Waiting to board in ATL.

Kind Bars

Have any of you tried the Kind bars? I have tried them before but just tried the Dark Chocolate Nut and Sea Salt one yesterday. Holy amazeballs! I pretty much inhaled it; it was that good. They are delicious, and I am anxious to get back to the grocery store to buy a box another few bars. I ate it as a snack at work to get through to lunch and that it did! I have always steered away from protein bars because they just taste gross. But, Kind has got it going on though!

What are some that y'all like?

Kind has no idea who I am; this post was not sponsored, however if Kind wants to send me a box or 2, I'll gladly take them!

Floppin' Flounder 5K -- Race Recap

This race was better than last year. mainly because I beat my time by over 3 minutes. Was I happy with it? No. My official time was 33:53. It was an all flat road race on the island. The last 5K I ran was back in April; it was a hilly course, and I ran it in 32:02. See my disappointment? I think the humidity just killed me. I was glad I did it but not happy with my time. It makes me ready to run another. It is a battle with myself.

Before the race

And my horrible splits....

Hope y'all have a great Monday! Hoping they post race pics soon!

Five on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Hey y'all! It's FINALLY Friday! Has this week not just totally drug by!? I think so. Now only if the weekend will go by like molasses I'll be doin' just fine.

{1} International Delight Southern Butter Pecan creamer...Y'ALL! If you are a coffee drinker; add this to your grocery list for this week because you need to try it. I have been enjoying it since Thanksgiving 2013 & haven't looked back. It's amazing. Trust me.

{2} Is it just me or is it baby season?! Holy Moly. Every social media platform I am on is flooded with baby announcements, more so than engagements I think. I don't know what it is but there are lots of babies! Must be something in the water! Watch out girls. ;)

{3} I am running my second Floppin Flounder 5K tomorrow, and I am pretty excited. 2 of my very best girlfriends are running it for the first time and so is my husband. I am pumped and looking to beat my horrible slow time from last year. Just praying that the humidity is easy on me. If any of my readers are there, be sure to say hi!

{4} I am very interested in getting a Fiddle Leaf Fig for our house; however, I have heard they are super temperamental, and you really have to be careful with them because they aren't cheap. Does anyone have one? Can you tell me how you keep yours alive?

{5} Not only is today Friday, but it's also NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY! I think Krispy Kreme's are the best. Hands down. Don't even try to argue with me, mmkay?! Just kidding; I will say the Dunkin' has some dang good coffee! Make sure to go get your free doughnut and maybe buy one extra for later. ;)

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

What do you want to know?!

Hey everyone! I have been in a slump lately with blogging so I'd like to hear from you! What do you want to see hear? What do you want to know about me?

Let me know. I am pretty much an open book so give me some ideas!

Have a great Wednesday!!

And because it's Wednesday...

The weekend is over?!

I can't believe the weekend is over. It felt like it lasted a while but then again so quick. Our June is really ramping up so I know everything is going to fly by!

Friday night we stayed in and cooked pizza on the Big Green Egg. It has become one of our favorite things to cook since we get to pick and choose what toppings we want, etc. It was DELICIOUS as always.

Saturday we spent the first half of the day in the backyard planting azaleas and hydrangeas. Our back beds needed some work. They are all clay so Brian had the duty of digging the holes and I filled with garden soil and planted. We also laid down weed cloth (I know that's not right, but that's what I call it) to keep the weeds from coming up and to make everything look nice and neat before we added mulch. It was a lot of work but I am so much happier with it. It beats that nasty red clay.

We rested and went out for date night at Roost that night and had a great dinner and of course dessert: fried apple pocket with cinnamon & a scoop of maple bacon ice cream. It really needed 2 scoops. You can't skimp on ice cream, y'all. Doesn't it look great? We walked around downtown Greenville afterwards. It was so pretty out, and we needed to walk off all that food.

I saw this cute sign too outside The Chocolate Moose. Their sister store is Cupcake in Mt. Pleasant.

Le duh.

And then to finish off the weekend, Mr. Gopher enjoyed my hydrangeas...as long as he doesn't knock off blooms...I'm okay with it. Those things are DELICATE, y'all.

We are off to Charleston this weekend to see friends, run the Floppin' Flounder 5K, and celebrate Father's Day early with my Dad.

Hope y'all have a fabulous week!

H
