Five on Friday!

Thank goodness it's Friday!! I am ready for the weekend to do some exploring with the hubs! Sorry for another list post for the second day in a row but thought I'd jump in on this link up!

[one]

I am SO looking forward to Thanksgiving. We are flying back to do Thanksgiving with my parents & grandparents in the mountains. Seriously y'all, I am craving cold weather and Texas just ain't givin' in. Blowing Rock is going to be fabulous. I will be sure to share pictures once we are back.

[two]

There are SO many baby announcements I feel like. Something is in the water y'all. But I am SO excited for all my friends who are expecting. One of my best friends Lauren isn't finding out the sex...and it's killing me. She is a stronger woman than me. I could never wait that long especially with my first. :)

[three]

The Sephora VIB sale started today & runs through 11/16. This sale gives you 20% your total purchase. Is there anything I just HAVE to get? I have a few things on my list. I mainly want to try out some Living Proof products. I hear WONDERFUL things about them. The code is VIB20 and should be entered at checkout.

[four]

I haven't started shopping for Christmas. I have no idea what to buy for people. My parents are especially hard to shop for. They don't ever "want" much. I guess that's part of getting older, no offense. I still love to buy sursies for people. I love to give.

[five]

I forgot to put this in my Old Navy roundup earlier this week. Not sure how I forgot but I did! This plaid boyfriend flannel pullover is so comfy. I wore it earlier this week working from home. You could also dress it up too. Maybe with a red skirt and some pumps and sparkles? I think so.

Happy Friday Y'all! I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Thursday Truths

So today has been one of those days where I just want to walk away from the computer, sit on the couch, eat junk food, and binge watch Scandal. I mean, I can't be the only one who wants to do these things some days. Can I get an amen?

I thought I would put out some "truths" if you will so my readers (if I have any) get to know me a bit more in depth. These are random. One is not more important than the other. Some are funny & some have a bit more thought to them. Just a fun way to see the "real" side of a person behind the post I think.

{1}
I originally titled this post Wednesday Wishes. Y'all, I legit thought it was Wednesday. I think working from home and not getting all ready for the office anymore has just made me not really think about what day it is.

{2}
I have a problem. It's called sweets. I have 0 self control. And sometimes...I just don't care.

{3}
I read a lot of blogs. But to be honest...do y'all think they are all starting to look & sound the same? I hate to say it but almost every blog I read is now always talking about clothes/makeup/hair/etc and has zero content on real life. I understand that it is some people's jobs. And that's cool. But not everybody is perfect like they portray. I get way more out of people who can just let their hair down and have real talk. It's just refreshing. And besides that, fashion bloggers make me want to buy all the things. Let's be real...I don't have money to spend like that.

{4}
My husband and I "gave" each other an iPad for our anniversary at the end of October. I think we were the only people in the world who didn't yet have an iPad. Oh well...now we LOVE it. :)

{5}
I think my dog is depressed. We moved from our house with a huge backyard...and now live in an apartment. Gopher LOVED his backyard and chasing squirrels. I hate it for him. If it will ever stop raining here in Austin on the weekends, we can take him out to the lake and trails.

Happy Thursday y'all!

Old Navy Fall Roundup!

Hi Friends. I don't know about y'all but I feel like Old Navy has stepped up their game over the years. This weekend, B was out of town for a funeral, so I hit up Old Navy. Unbeknownst to me, they were having their Veteran's Day Sale. I scored big with lots of cute things. I thought I'd share the wealth with y'all because it's too good not to!!

I paired this plaid dress (which is PRECIOUS on) with tall tan riding boots. However, there are so many ways to wear with tall boots or booties. I can't find my riding boots online since they are old Franco Fortini, but I think these Sam Edelman boots would look awesome too.

Who doesn't love easy swing dresses?? I got this one in Black and "Marin Berry."

I bought this in a large mainly because I wanted this to be roomy. The medium fit but it wasn't as roomy/comfy as I wanted. Like on the model, this would look cute with slip on's for a sportier look. It can easily be dressed up too, I think.

Love the pocket on this top. Color is "Pink Elephant."

And last but not least...leggings!
You can never have too many! got these in polka dot in the picture below and then black!

Old Navy has their Veteran's Day Sale still going on today so be sure to jump on over and check out the goods. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Happy Monday, y'all!

Haley

That time we moved to Texas...

Hi Friends!! Sorry I have been quiet on the blog. Let's jump right into it shall we?

For about the past 2 months, Brian and I have been preparing ourselves to list our home, pack up our house, and move 1100 miles away to Austin, TX. It has been crazy, exciting, and scary. If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw my announcement but here is the blog official, if you will.

I won't lie -- I cried...like the kind of crying that makes me you have to catch your breath. Yes folks. I was scared to death. I am horrible about "what if-ing" EVERY SITUATION that requires a major decision.

I was mainly concerned about selling our house. That is still a work in progress but I'm OK with it. It was interesting; the day after I had my breakdown (call it what you will...just owning it folks.) was a Sunday. We were in our last Sunday school class at church. And what do you know? The lesson was on fear. I laughed to myself and looked right at Brian and was like "Got it." The Lord just laid it right on me in that lesson. And I have been OK ever since. Funny how His plan is so much better huh?

We have only had two weekends really. Both of which have been downpours. First thing I do in a new place, check out the food. Lord, help my waistline. We did check out Torchy's Tacos on Saturday and it was fabulous. We went to the food truck, but they have several restaurants around Austin.

The Democrat & The Baja Shrimp tacos with a side of street corn!

I hope to keep y'all up to date on our adventures here. Please leave me a message if there are any hidden gems that you know about near or around Austin.

Haley

Current Make Up Rotation

Y'all, I have a problem. It's called buying too much makeup. Nothing gives me all the feels like walking out of Sephora with a back full of beauty goodies!! However, I am always reaching for the same things out of my bag...like I said...it's a problem. HA! #sorryhusband

Below are some of my current favorites that are in my makeup bag and that I reach for often.

What are some of y'alls favorites?? I am always looking for something new!!

Haley

It's back y'all...

That's right. You heard me. College football is back! My alma mater, South Carolina, kicks off tonight against the Tarheels. While I wish I could be there, work beckons!!

I'm not sure about your school, but for SEC schools, it's real big for the girls to dress up for games. I'm not talking heels...but yes, I have seen some freshman girls do it....no honey, you'll learn. We always have on cute dresses or skirts & tops & our Jacks for those blistering hot games. Y'all when I was a student...I could hang. But not now. The heat makes me angry. #truestory

During the night games and when it gets into October & November, that is REALLY my favorite time for football...I mean c'mon dresses, tights, & booties. Yes ma'am!!

Here are some cute things I have rounded up for my team. What are y'all wearing for your team??

This would be SO cute with some black skinnies!
And the back is SUPER cute.

Love a dress that's flowy so it hides all that tailgate food I just ate. #sorrynotsorry

Just add tights, booties, and a cute scarf! This dress is ADORABLE.
See what I mean...F-L-O-W-Y or loose...whatever you want to call it.
#comfy

Tassels & fringe are IN ladies!
Not sure if I could rock this hat but it would be PRECIOUS with that garnet dress above.

Hope y'all have a fabulous Thursday!!

xoxo,
Haley

Wednesday Where Abouts

The husband and I are headed to Denver on Sunday! We are so excited. It was kind of a spontaneous trip. Do any of y'all have any suggestions on places to eat?! We are eaters for sure!

We have our days planned out but wanted to hear options on places to eat/drink. We are definitely hitting up some breweries because my husband is a beer snob.

Anyways, let me know if you have suggestions!

Happy Hump Day!

5 Things You Probably Don't Know About Me....

I figured that I should probably list a few things about me for any new readers or those who just care to know. I always like to see these on other bloggers' blogs.

1. I am a crier. Like seriously...I cry over everything. Like the background stories on Dancing with the Stars for example... I CRIED. Such a wimp, I tell ya.

2. I am WAY obsessed with my dog, Gopher. Yes, his name is Gopher; he came with that name. We rescued him from Lowcountry Lab Rescue and he is THE BEST THING to ever happen to us.

3. I am a home body for sure. I like to hang out at home, work outside with all my flowers, hang with my pup, etc. I don't like to be on the run all the time. Don't get me wrong, I like to be social but I like my time spent at home too.

4. My husband has been my only serious relationship; prior to being engaged/married of course. I dated other guys but none as serious or as long as my husband. And he is younger than me. HA!

5. I am an avid blog reader but I struggle with keeping up my own. Call me nosey I guess. I like the real deal. People's lives are not perfect. I don't that my life is but seeing that other people have stuff going on is refreshing. I feel like the internet allows people to hide behind the screen and only share what we want.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Tomorrow is Wednesday!!!

H

Thank Goodness it's Fri-YAY!

Who's excited for the weekend? ME!!! This week has been a bit of a doozy for me. I am so thankful that it is going to be a nice weekend....just see for yourself. I am anticipating laying out on Sunday for sure...after my in-laws leave that is.

Speaking of in-laws, we are hosting them this weekend for Mother's Day. We actually haven't seen them since before Christmas. Crazy, I know. That's what happens when you live in 2 different cities and your husband has been non-stop traveling for work. Tonight we are going to see Need to Breathe in concert. It is one of my husband's favorite bands....I have started liking their music too. Probably because their CDs are on constant repeat in his truck. But for real, they're good. My favorite song of theirs is probably "Multiplied" & also "Brother." They are brothers.... Bear and Bo! Swoon! Loving those names! And they're from SC! Represent!!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a Happy Mother's Day. Enjoy your weekend & tell that momma of yours you love her!

Haley

5.05.2015

Oh hey there!

Well it's only been over 6 months since I have written. OOPS! Y'all, work, travel, church, Junior League, friends, husband, pup, volunteer work -- it has all taken over. And that's called LIFE folks!! But I am going to try to be much better. Anyways, I wanted to share with y'all quickly the most amazing make up primer EVER that was just introduced to me.

I was in Sephora last Friday to run in and get some more Bare Minerals powder & was speaking with the lady about how oily my skin is. Recently is has gone into OVER LOAD oil production (don't ask me why!) and my make up practically has been sliding off my face by 10:30 AM. Y'all, it ain't pretty! I don't wear a TON of make up to work anyways, just enough so I don't scare people. Well, the sweet lady at Sephora asked if I had ever used the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I hadn't and she told me it was "super matte." She offered me a sample, and I have been using it since last Friday. Y'all, it. is. AMAZING. I just finished up my sample this morning and am going to get myself to the mall to buy the full thing ASAP.

 You can buy it here.

My make up stays and doesn't run & looks great for the whole work day. This has NEVER happened for me. If you have super oily skin like me, give it a shot. The girls at Sephora can always give you a sample to try before you buy the real deal. I can't wait to test out other Becca products to see how they hold up!

Have a great Tuesday!!

xoxo,
Haley
